Jailbreak apple TV 2 with Seas0npas on 5.1.1

Pre-launch checklist

1. Download and install the latest version of iTunes (check for updates through Software Update located in Apple menu).
2. Download Seas0nPass for Mac [10.6 or later] or Windows [XP or later].
3. A micro USB cable will be required to complete the jailbreak.
4. Disconnect any iPods, iPhones, and iPads from your computer.

Jailbreaking

Step 1: Unzip the ‘Seas0nPass.zip’ file and launch Seas0nPass.

Step 2: Select the ‘Create IPSW’ button to start the jailbreak process.
Step 3: The latest Apple TV software will be downloaded and used to create a custom ‘jailbroken’ software file.

Step 4:When prompted, connect your Apple TV using a micro-USB cable (leave power disconnected).

Once the light on the front of the Apple TV begins to flash rapidly, point the remote at theAppleTV and hold both the MENU and PLAY/PAUSE buttons for 7 seven seconds.

Note: This step will require the silver (aluminum) Apple TV remote that was included with theATV2. The older, white (plastic) remotes will not work.

Step 5: iTunes will open automatically and start the restore process.

Step 6: iTunes will confirm the restore when complete – your Apple TV is now jailbroken. Please proceed to the ‘tethered boot’ section below.

So if you want to upgrade to iOS 5.1.1, but you currently require a software unlock, then DO NOT UPGRADE TO THE STOCK IOS. instead create a custom firmware with preserved baseband.

Cydia” –> “Manage” –> “Source” –> “Edite” –> “Add”

How To Use Absinthe iOS 5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak




Step 1: Download Absinthe 2.0 from the links given above


Step 2: Once the tool has been downloaded, find the compressed file and extract all of the contents like you would with any standard zip file. Place the files on your desktop for easy and quick access.


Step 3: Using a standard 30-pin connector cable, connect the device to be jailbroken with your computer.


Step 4: Launch the Absinthe tool through the executable file which you downloaded in step 1. When launched, the program will show an initial interface that will have some text-based information on it, and a “Jailbreak” button.


Step 5: Please dont touch or disconnect the iPhone or your iDevice while the jailbreak is in process, this might take few minutes depending upon the server load.

Step 6: When the payload process is complete and you’re confronted with your device’s lock screen, the ever familiar Cydia icon will be present on the home screen.

Done.. your iPhone or your iDevice is jailbroken now...
