Cydia and new Pangu Jailbreak for iOS 8.1

Saurik has updated Cydia Substrate (formerly Mobile Substrate) to support iOS 8 and the recently released Pangu jailbreak.

However, it is important to note that version 0.9.5013 does come with some limitations. While it supports iOS 8, after every reboot you must respring before Cydia Substrate will load extensions. Saurik notes that he is working with the Pangu team to roll out a stable fix for this respring issue.

In short, on iOS 8: after every reboot, you need to respring before Substrate will load extensions in SpringBoard.

Substrate version 0.9.5013 supports iOS 8, but because of limitations in Pangu (versions 1.0 through 1.0.1 so far tested), Substrate won't work immediately after the device boots - it will only work after the first respring. You can respring by SSHing to your device and typing killall backboardd

This happens because Pangu loads Substrate after other processes have already loaded, causing Substrate to not work until the next time backboardd and SpringBoard restart.

We are coordinating closely with the Pangu team to make certain the best possible fix for this is deployed.

Note that Pangu has not bundled Cydia with their iOS 8 jailbreak yet, so we recommend holding off until the team releases a new version of the jailbreak. We'll be posting step-by-step tutorials so be sure to follow

Pangu team releases and update on iOS 8 jailbreak

Good news but not that good...

Update 1 on Lydia is out

The PanguTeam has issued an update on the status of its jailbreak for iOS 8 - 8.1. Earlier this week a Windows only Pangu8 jailbreak utility was released for download.

As you may know, the release does not include Cydia and is very unstable. Despite the numerous tutorials that have popped up on other sites, we strongly recommend that unless you're a developer, you hold off until a safe version is released, at which point iClarified will post tutorials.

The PanguTeam has confirmed to iClarified that it is hard at work trying to resolve bugs with the jailbreak. Here's the latest status update from the team:

We are working with @saurik to make Cydia stable asap. Also we are fixing bugs include Safari and iMessage problems. Please wait ...

To prepare you device for the upcoming release, you can restore or update to iOS 8.1 using iTunes; rather than a software update.

5 Awesome Things Apple’s New iPhone 6 Is Rumored to Have

A Model With a Bigger Screen.
Some Apple critics have compared the iPhone 5’s puny 4-inch screen unfavorably to Samsung’s flagship phones, like the Galaxy S5, which has a 5.1-inch screen. The iPhone 6 is expected to silence the complainers, with one iPhone 6 model rumored to have a 5.5-inch screen, which is quite a big jump in size. A second model may have a 4.7-inch display, which is also a pretty big increase, and certainly much larger than the comparatively minuscule iPhone 4 display, which was a mere 3.5 inches.
Near Field Communication (NFC).
Near Field Communication is essentially a way to wirelessly connect devices over a very short range. The Financial Times reported Friday that Apple is working with a Dutch chipmaker to add NFC capabilities to the new iPhone, opening up the possibility of mobile, pay-by-touch payments and open other potential applications.
Mobile Payments.
The iPhone 6’s purported NFC capabilities will mean Apple could turn the iPhone into a mobile wallet, allowing users to pay for goods and services with a swipe of the phone. Apple is reportedly holding talks with credit card companies and banks on the effort, and thanks to Apple’s massive database of financial data it’s collected through the App Store and iTunes, this could be push mobile payments into the mainstream.
Sapphire Glass.
One of the biggest complaints with the iPhone and other smartphones is that they’re pretty fragile devices, considering how often we use them and how expensive they can be — and there are few things uglier than a cracked iPhone display. Well, Apple is developing synthetic sapphire at its new facility in Arizona, the Wall Street Journal reports, a harder and more expensive material that can replace glass. And if this can be believed, sapphire is remarkably resilient. Plus, Apple already used sapphire in smart parts of the iPhone 5 (over the camera lens) and in the iPhone 5S (for the home button/fingerprint scanner).
iOS 8.
Apple’s new operating system is one of the few things we do know a lot about, and it’s official information from Apple this time. For instance, we know that Apple is rolling out a new HealthKit app as part of iOS 8 that allows users to keep track of their personal health and fitness data, which also pulls in data from other sources like Nike+ apps and health institutions. We also know that iOS 8 allows you to share apps, music and books purchased with the same credit card with your family, as well as save photos, video and documents to iCloud. The camera software will have a shot timer and other improvements, and group messaging will be more versatile: you can now add or drop someone from a conversation, finally

GLIMPSE OF IPHONE 6: SPOILER ALERT

A purported iPhone 6 with what looks to be a 4.7″ display has been assembled from leaked parts, and the device even turns itself on, but is seemingly stuck

The assembled device looks quite nice and is obviously much more refined than some of the earlier part leaks that have shown up across the web. This is very likely what we’ll see debuted by Apple in a few short weeks, making the video a significant spoiler. Of course, it’s always possible these part leaks and the device itself is not actually an iPhone, or is some elaborate hoax or fraud, though all existing rumors and indications would strongly suggest otherwise.

iWatch could cost as much as $400 for highest end model

Are you all looking for a cool new iWatch??

Duh!!
Crazy people...

Apple could charge an upwards of $400 for its highest end iWatch, according to some website Apple executives have reportedly “discussed charging around $400 for the company’s new wearable device,”

although there will also be different models set at lower prices.

Does that mean the top-of-the-line iWatch will actually cost $400? Not necessarily.

Charging $400 would certainly make the iWatch the most premium wearable on the consumer market right now. Samsung’s Galaxy Gear smart watch costs $300, while most Android-powered watches cost around $200.

The original iPhone was incredibly expensive at $499 with a carrier contract. So $400 for a first-gen Apple wearable that connects to an iPhone and utilizes iOS 8’s HealthKit and HomeKit APIs isn’t exactly outlandish.
The good news is that the wait is almost over. Cult of Mac will be at Apple’s September 9th event for the rumored iPhone 6 and iWatch unveiling. Stay tuned.

Get ready to loosen your Wallet??

Mailbox app for iPhone.

hello
friends

those who want to have a simple email app for your iDevice...

Mailbox is a completely redesigned inbox that makes email light, fast, and mobile-friendly. Quickly swipe messages to your archive or trash. Scan an entire conversation at once with chat-like organization. Snooze emails until later with the tap of a button — they’ll return to your inbox automatically so you can focus on what's important now. Mailbox checks your email from the cloud, then delivers it to your phone securely. You can even get push notifications for new messages. Add all your GMail accounts for speedy access on-the-go.

Unfortunately, Mailbox is Gmail only at this time but does plan to expand to other platforms. Additionally, there is a waiting list to get access to the app. Download Mailbox to reserve your spot.

You can download Mailbox from the App Store for free.
